Gameplay tips
Some general tips before you start:
- The game doesn't allow the player to roll back the choices during a dialogue, therefore it's recommended to save before you start specific actions for a quest, so that you can re-load if needed. Also, in case you die or if things go south, utilize auto-saves - they usually provide an option to load before key dialogue choices, but not always, so be wary of relying on them too much
- There are hidden location markers on the main map that trigger certain events as well as there are hidden locations in specific sub-maps. There are 2 ways that will allow you to see those location markers normally without the need to hover your mouse cursor on top of them to reveal them (add map with hidden location markers):
- by using a "drunk mode" if you get drunk by drinking wine or whiskey 1-2x (don't overdo it, you should see a house icon on top of the map)
- by using a "high mode" if you click on drugs in your inventory - the things will get quite colorful
- In order to skip time faster, you can press and hold right "Ctrl" on your keyboard and keep clicking on "Time" button in the UI, keep an eye on your stats though while doing this, cause your Satiety and Energy stats might go down to 0
- Every time you have a "happy drinking" mini-game, save (💾) your game before you do anything, so in case you don't achieve the expected result, you can start over
- Usually each animated scene has 3 different angles and it gets selected randomly when the scene starts, so it's best to save (💾) before triggering it, if you want to watch all of them
- In fighting mini-game, always use "kick" attack, since it will do the most damage to your opponent and knock them out faster
I strongly suggest enabling and using the in-game cheat menu when playing the game (it can be enabled after completing the Prologue). Using the in-game cheat menu will prohibit you from unlocking some extra renderings, but you'll save yourself a lot of time from grinding. Alternatively, editing variable values via console or by using URM is an option too (see, Console cheats).
If you're brave enough to forego using cheats and grind through the whole thing, well, good luck! You've been warned!
Using cheats
If you opt for using the cheats, here are the first things to do:
- Once Zeus drops you off in the city and you wake up in the free-roam mode, give yourself a good chunk of money (about 20k should be fine to start with)
- Once you discover a character, max out your relationship points with them using cheats. It's too much grind to do it the normal way. Keep in mind, that with time your relationships will deteriorate (if you don't interact with the specific character), so you might need to re-up the relationship points from time to time
- Buy all available things at Martha's store, especially chocolates and plush toys (at least 10 of each), since they are required to trigger some events where dialogue choices won't appear, unless you have the item in your inventory - you will need a normal look for shopping, cause she won't serve you when you have a bum look
- You can also max out your strength and reputation, if you like, but those are optional, cause you'll improve them by doing quests
Earning money
There are multiple ways to earn money in game (if not using cheats above):
- find drugs on the street and sell them to Arnold - very unreliable and won't earn much, however, at the moment there appears to be an exploit where you can generate money through cycle trading (see Arnold's page for details)
- do work for Nestor after unlocking his S0 - quite tedious and you can get busted by the police in the process
- get a job at the bank after completing Franciska's S0 - boring and involves a lot of time-skipping
- if MC and Mr. Salazar aren't enemies, the MC can work as his bodyguard detail during weekends after completing Bella's S3 - at the moment, this is the most lucrative option
